This course will explore innovations in information systems in developing countries, and focus not only on the importance of technology, but also on broader issues necessary for its success, such as quality improvement, project management, and leadership skills. Ultimately, health care delivery systems require fundamental and sound operations, such as physical infrastructure and supply-chain management, to deliver high-quality care. Technology is simply a tool to help facilitate this process. The quality of care theme is critical to this course. The first step stakeholders in health systems should focus on prior to introducing an innovation is to establish a culture of quality improvement and patient safety. An information system can then play a facilitative role by enabling care coordination, tracking processes and outcomes, informing decision making, and fostering learning through data analysis. An information system without an accompanying organizational transformation risks reinforcing the same failed processes. Using technology to improve access to care without any other quality improvement elements will yield the same and not necessarily better results, but more of them. Innovations need to address gaps in quality and demonstrate improvement in health outcomes, otherwise they won’t sustain or scale.Lastly, we will discuss our attempts to leverage troves of data to define best practice and how we must keep the patient perspective and health at the center of everything we do.This course is targeted toward individuals interested in designing or implementing a health information and communication technology (ICT) solution in the developing world. Implementing a health information technology project requires multidisciplinary teams. Thus, with this course, we hope to bring together individuals from a variety of disciplines—computer science, medicine, engineering, public health, policy, and business.
In this course, we will explore ways to leverage information technology to combat disease and promote health, especially in resource-constrained settings. Technology is a driving force that sweeps across nations even faster than disease and with the spread of mobile phones, which bring computational power and data to our fingertips, new paradigms in tracking and battling disease have been discovered. This course will explore innovations in information systems in developing countries, and focus not only on the importance of technology, but also on broader issues necessary for its success, such as quality improvement, project management, and leadership skills. The Advanced Diploma in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Psychopharmacology is an expert adviser on which drug might have the best impact on a patient with a particular mental health condition. They understand how the medicine works and what the expected clinical outcomes are. The medic is also likely to have a grasp of neuroscience as the medicines used have impacts on the functioning of the central nervous system. Moreover, they comprehend the differences between a wide range of mental health conditions. In order to prescribe drugs, the psychopharmacologist will need to have an in depth understanding of the drug’s pharmaceutics (i.e. the movement of the drug within the body) and pharmacodynamics (i.e. the effects of the drug and its mechanism of action). This is particularly important should a medicine interact with any reward regions of the body as the psychopharmacologist would not, for example, want a medicine to interact too quickly and cause the patient to become addicted to a possible high that the medicine gives them. Therefore, the scientist needs to understand how the drug interacts with the body over time at a particular dose, how long it stays in the body and also if it is likely to react with any other medicines that the patient is taking. They should also have some knowledge of the genetics of patients as well as this may have a significant impact as well.
The course begins by introducing you to the primary foundational ideas and history of Cognitive Psychology and Behavioural psychology, the established fields from which CBT originated.
Studying CBT with Psychopharmacology can be one of the most significant investments a person can make in their personal/professional growth as Psychopharmacology and CBT provides an excellent framework for personal and professional development.

Neuropsychology is the study brain systems and functions and how they relate to human behavior. It can be thought of as the combination of two disciplines: on one side there’s neurology, which looks at the physical aspect of the human brain and central nervous system, and on the other side is psychology, which focuses more on human behavior and thought processes. This guide will explain the neuropsychology profession in more detail, including neuropsychology degrees, what graduates can expect, and the most common neuropsychology careers.
Clinical Neuropsychology (sometimes known as cognitive neuropsychology) can be considered a specialism within clinical psychology. Neuropsychologists specialise in treating and working with those who have suffered traumatic brain injury, strokes or who have tumours, neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Alzheimer’s disease) and metabolic disorders. Neuropsychologists are required to possess both general clinical skills alongside a significant understanding of the neurosciences.
Clinical Neuropsychologists most commonly works in acute settings (short-term and long term care), usually in regional neuroscience centres, where their focus is on the early effects of trauma, neurosurgery and neurological diseases. They also work in rehabilitation centres, providing post-acute assessment, treatment and support for people who have sustained brain injury or who have other neurological problems.
Neuropsychologists typically work as part of an interdisciplinary team with other professionals, such as nurses, occupational therapists and neurologists. Research forms a key part of neuropsychological practice. Experienced neuropsychologists may act as expert witnesses for the judicial system. Employers include:
